About Jordy

The Red Bug Hill Challenge is held in memory of Jordy Rourke, who died unexpectedly of a heart attack in May 2008 at the age of 20.  Although Jordy was born with Spina Bifida and used a leg brace to walk, he led a full and active life. He had just completed his second year at Millsaps College. Jordy enjoyed many things: fishing, swimming playing the guitar, and spending time with family and friends. He led a life of service, working with Habitat for Humanity, Campus Ministry, and Lions Camp. Jordy truly cared about people and put others needs before his own.

Following Jordy's lead, the Red Bug Hill Challenge seeks to help children born with Spina Bifida in Louisiana meet their needs and overcome any obstacles they may face. All donations from the Red Bug Hill Challenge go towards this goal. Thanks to all of you who have made this event possible.
